Freedom Credit Union member Tyler Dowd of Ludlow High School was awarded a $2000 scholarship from the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union Association during its annual meeting on May 8 at Castle of Knights in Chicopee.
Tyler will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute and plans to major in electrical and computer engineering.
The Pioneer Valley Chapter of the Cooperative Credit Union Association awarded six $2000 scholarships in 2018. The Cooperative Credit Union Association, which represents credit unions in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Delaware and Rhode Island, awarded an additional $1500 scholarship. Students who are members of credit unions, or if their parents are members, are eligible to apply for the scholarships.
